Short, factual answers to what buyers ask before they choose a positioner or an attachment. The numbers in the tables come straight from our catalogue.
Take the weight of the weldment together with its fixture, then check where its centre of gravity sits. For 1 tonne that means PP 15, SP 12 or SPK 12; for 5 tonnes PP 50, SP 50 or SPK 50; for 10 tonnes PP 100, SP 100, SPK 100 or the double-column SPK 50-D. Whether the smaller of two candidates is enough is decided by torque, not by weight: a long part with its centre of gravity far from the table needs the next size up.
A manual positioner puts the part where a welder needs it: the operator sets the position and the rotation speed, steplessly, with a START-STOP system. A robotic positioner is an axis of the welding cell: its gearboxes are built for servomotors, so the robot controller moves the part in step with the torch. KOVACO builds both, 6 manual and 7 robotic types.
KOVACO, spol. s r.o. is a European manufacturer of welding positioners based in Veľká Lehota, Slovakia. It has built them since 1991 and today makes 13 types, manual and robotic, for weldments from 600 kg to 30 tonnes. Design, cutting, machining, welding, assembly and testing happen in its own hall, under an ISO 9001 quality system certified by SGS.
Most of the KOVACO range: 27 attachments have a size for skid steer loaders, among them buckets, pallet and farm forks, grapples, sweepers, snow blades, the side-shift backhoe and the concrete mixing bucket. What decides is the weight class of your loader and its hydraulic oil flow, not the brand. The table lists each attachment with the sizes made for skid steer loaders and the carrier weight they are built for.
Eighteen KOVACO attachments have a size for telehandlers, among them the pallet fork, farm fork and bale handler, the large volume, 4-in-1, screening, grate and concrete mixing buckets, the log grapple, sweepers, snow blades, the auger and the wood splitter. They are the larger sizes of each attachment, built for heavier carriers. The table lists each one with the sizes that fit and the carrier weight.
Eleven KOVACO attachments have a size for tractors: the rear dozer blade and the side-shift backhoe made specifically for tractors, sweepers and an angle broom, the snow blower, the V snow blade, the sand and salt spreader, the wood splitter and an additional hydraulic unit. The table lists each of them with the sizes that fit and the tractor weight they are built for.
Three KOVACO attachments are made for forklifts: a large volume bucket for forklifts, a dozer blade for forklifts and the COMBI sweeper. They turn a forklift that already works in the yard into a loader, a plough or a sweeper. The table lists each one with the sizes that fit and the truck weight it is built for.
Yes, in most cases. Fit is decided by three things, none of which is the brand: the type and weight class of the carrier, its hydraulic oil flow and pressure, and the quick coupler. KOVACO builds each attachment in several sizes for different weight classes and adapts the mounting to your machine free of charge.
It depends on the attachment: from about 10 l/min for simple hydraulic functions up to 160 l/min for the largest attachments with a hydraulic motor, such as mulchers, snow blowers and trenchers. Working pressure is mostly between 160 and 240 bar, and up to 350 bar for some attachments. The table gives the required oil flow and pressure of every hydraulic KOVACO attachment.
Three cover most winter work: a blade to push snow (a straight dozer blade or a V blade), a snow blower where the snow has to be thrown aside instead of piled, and a sand and salt spreader for grip afterwards. KOVACO makes all three, plus sweepers and an angle broom for the rest of the year, so one loader serves the roads all year round.
Yes. KOVACO designs clamping fixtures for the customer's part and delivers them turn-key with the positioner, and it develops complete special-purpose machines as projects, from the concept to a tested unit. Project outputs and documentation belong to the client, and technical know-how is treated as confidential by default.
